Amnesties
Benin had seven amnesties between 1984 and 2001. Two occurred in the context of democratic transition. Six amnesties released political prisoners.

Domestic Trials
TJET has compiled data on 17 domestic prosecutions between 1975 and 2018. These include one transitional human rights prosecution of state agents, in which no one was convicted; ten regular human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which seven persons were convicted; and six opposition prosecutions of state agents or opposition members, in which 13 persons were convicted.
