Democratic Transition

TJET records no democratic transitions in Mauritius between 1970 and 2020.

Violent Conflict

Based on the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, TJET records no episodes of violent intrastate conflict in Mauritius between 1970 and 2020.


Transitional Justice Data

Domestic Trials

TJET has compiled data on four domestic prosecutions between 2006 and 2020. These include four regular human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which no one was convicted.

Truth Commissions

Mauritius mandated one truth commission in 2008. The commission completed its operations in 2011. The commission issued a final report, which is publicly available. The report included recommendations for reparations and institutional reforms.
