Country Background
Democratic Transition
Based on well-known democracy data, TJET records two democratic transitions starting in 1991 and 2018.

Violent Conflict
Based on the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, TJET records no episodes of violent intrastate conflict in Armenia between 1970 and 2020.
Transitional Justice Data

Amnesties
Armenia had three amnesties between 2001 and 2011. Three amnesties released political prisoners.

Domestic Trials
TJET has compiled data on 34 domestic prosecutions between 2005 and 2019. These include four transitional human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which no one was convicted; and 30 regular human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which 39 persons were convicted. In two trials that involved high-ranking state agents, no one was convicted.
