Based on well-known democracy data, TJET records one democratic transition starting in 2004.

Violent Conflict
Based on the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, TJET records six violent intrastate conflict episodes between 1991 and 2008 (during five calendar years), involving four distinct armed opposition groups fighting against the government. One conflict episode was internationalized by involvement of external state actors.

Transitional Justice Data

Amnesties
Georgia had five amnesties between 1992 and 2013. One was passed during ongoing internal armed conflict. Three were passed after internal armed conflict. Three amnesties released political prisoners.

Domestic Trials
TJET has compiled data on 62 domestic prosecutions between 1997 and 2020. These include 60 regular human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which 99 persons were convicted; one intrastate conflict prosecution of state agents, in which one person was convicted; one intrastate conflict prosecution of opposition members, in which three persons were convicted; and two opposition prosecutions of state agents or opposition members, in which four persons were convicted.

Reparations Policies
Georgia implemented one reparations policy between 2007 and 2010. TJET found no information on the total number of beneficiaries.
