Country Background
Democratic Transition
Based on well-known democracy data, TJET records four democratic transitions starting in 1970, 1992, 2002, and 2014.

Based on the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, TJET records no episodes of violent intrastate conflict in Fiji between 1970 and 2020.
Transitional Justice Data

Amnesties
Fiji had two amnesties between 1987 and 2000. One was part of a peace agreement. One amnesty forgave human rights violations.

Domestic Trials
TJET has compiled data on eleven domestic prosecutions between 1990 and 2020. These include two transitional human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which two persons were convicted; and nine regular human rights prosecutions of state agents, in which five persons were convicted.
